Valentine Sorting Activity for Toddlers and Kids- Free Download
With just a few simple supplies you can get this activity set up in about 60 seconds. Be sure to grab the free download below to make your life even easier!
I need short and sweet right now with a newborn at home (currently typing with one hand while I feed her!), so that’s what you will be getting today.
Here’s What You Need
Pom poms, beads, or buttons. Any single one of these are reusable with endless possibilities. We use all three of these supplies regularly, so you can’t go wrong!
Color coded and numbered hearts- grab the free download below to make your life easier!
I also like to use this silicone muffin pan for holding and organizing our supplies. We use it all of the time! Seriously, it gets used 2-5 times each week and I’m so happy it was a flop for actual baking.
Set up
1 minute
Set up the printable hearts from the free download above.
Get your pom poms, beads, or buttons out.
Let your child practice sorting or counting.
Clean Up
1 minute
Save the pom poms or any other material you used for a later date. I also saved the heart pages by laminating them.
As you can see, our 2 year old was not interested in actually matching, but that is OK! She had a blast placing the pom poms in a pattern that made sense to her. I might not always understand the process, but I try to not interrupt even when it is difficult and not how I planned on the activity going.

Grab the free download to get started with matching and counting activities for the kids. And of course we are using hearts to stick to a Valentine’s Day theme!
