Easter Basket Ideas for Kids
If you celebrate Easter, it might be time to start thinking about what you are going to put in the Easter baskets for your children. Below, I’ll share all of my favorite ideas to help get you started.
Because we have food allergies in our house, we try to make most of the items non-food things. We still include candy for our oldest because it is fun and yummy and we don’t want to make anything off limits for her. We have found a few candy-ish things for Vaila so far and I spend a fair bit of time before any holiday prepping fun food for her. She is currently following AIP (Autoimmune protocol) for anyone interested. I am always happy to chat more about that, so please send me a message if you want to share/vent/commiserate/celebrate/get more information.
We have created a way to celebrate holidays that doesn’t centered around sugar or massively overeating. That means we include some toys and a lot of consumable/usable/useful items in the Easter baskets. We aim for balance and so far, it is working for us.
Please enjoy all of these throwback pictures. I did not get out our Easter baskets yet for this year, so you can peep a much younger Brinly, tiny Vaila, and my pregnant belly.
Easter Basket Fillers
I thought this would be best broken into categories, so peruse all of the links to find what you are looking for. I usually try to include one or more items from each category to help the baskets be well rounded, fun, and useful. You can click each category right here to be taken directly to that section, or just scroll through to see all of the items in each category.
Outdoor Toys
bubble wand and refill
soccer ball (note: the ball linked comes deflated)
rain gauge- this might not be the ideal toy for every kid, but our kids love this thing and get so excited to measure rainfall.
sky dancer doll- I used to love these as a kid!
Outdoor Gear
umbrella- I love this umbrella for the kids. It is transparent with cute designs, so they can see without bumping into anything. We have the same umbrella for all of the kids, which eliminates any arguments about who gets which umbrella.
Glam
lip balm (this Crayola set looks cute!)
bracelets//slap bracelets//charm bracelets//motivational stretchy bracelet
bows- we have been getting Little Poppy Co. bows for years and have loved them!
headbands- I have recently been trying Little Poppy Co. headbands and they fit the girls and me!
Indoor Crafts/Activities
silky crayons-these are addicting to color with!
Indoor Toys
pretend food
egg matching and sorting toy or this larger shape matching carton
Useful Items
bandages//another brand//a third brand that we have loved- please tell me I’m not the only one going through 15 bandages a day sometimes.
I’ll also be posting some of our favorite Easter and springtime books soon, so be on the lookout for those posts. I always include a book in the Easter baskets and we try to write a short and sweet message to each of the kids. I’m hoping it will be something they treasure as they get older and potentially share with their children, but maybe I’m being too sappy.
I hope this roundup of Easter basket ideas was helpful for you. Use this list as inspiration and let me know in the comments your favorite item in this list.
