Hey there!
I’m Miranda
I live in Michigan and am the creator of Filling Our Days. I love being outside and spending time with my children. I spend most of the day as a stay-at-home mom and have found activities and crafts to be such a helpful tool in my parenting journey. I’m here to share ideas you can try in your own family so you can reclaim your peace and enjoy the time you have with your children! Together let’s build memories and a life you love.

Summer 2023 Weekly and Daily Schedule
Check out our summer schedule. We’ve included themed days and I even added a breakdown of how we flow through each day.
Bug and Nature Exploration Bin
Let your child collect some nature items and explore some (pretend) bugs! This was a great way to chat about the different creatures we might see as the weather warms up and ease some of the bug fears our 3 year old has.
Easy to set up and fun to explore!
Bug and Insect Rice Sensory Bin
This rice sensory bin is the perfect way to introduce or refamiliarize your kids with bugs and insects. It is a fun way to talk about nature and welcome spring!
Our Journey to 1000 Hours Outside in 2023, Pt. 1
A peek into why we decided to aim for 1,000 hours outside this year, how we plan to make it happen, and our favorite outdoor gear and toys.
Ice Cube Smash
All you need is ice! Grab a spoon, ladle, or hammer and let your little ones have a blast smashing some ice.
Farm Animal Mud Bath Sensory Bin
This messy activity was cleaned up in only a few minutes and gave us the reset we needed on a hard day!
At Home Kid’s Car Wash
This kid’s car wash requires only 4 basic items that I bet you already have at home. It’s a great way to beat the heat and keep the kids entertained for a long time!
Chalk Paint
If you are looking for a way to keep your kids entertained outside, this is perfect! A little messy, but a lot of fun from start to finish.
Nature Soup
This activity was so easy to put together and the kids had a blast setting it up themselves!
Grab the free download to get started with a flower sorting activity! Great for toddlers, preschoolers, and older kids.
